About Us W1BCG |
|
Back in 1960, a group of ham radio operators in the lower Middlesex County area met in Deep River to discuss starting a ham radio club. The goals for the group, which remain the same today included emergency communication support and have FUN within the hobby.
Over the years, the Club has participated in local civic events, licensing of new hams, Field Day and emergency communications for drills and local disasters.
We meet regularly at the Westbrook Emergency Operations Center, at the Riggio Building on Boston Post Road in Westbrook (near the firehouse). Visitors are always welcome to join us.
The Club’s HF / 2m / 70cm station is set up for club activities and supporting the Town of Westbrook, Office of Emergency Management. The station has the capability to interface with surrounding towns, CT DEMHS (Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security) Regional Offices around the state and other agencies that utilize ham radio.
